The German special feed manufacturer installs a new fat spraying tower at the company headquarters in Westmünsterland. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the new tower is significantly more energy-efficient and flexible than the previous one. The commissioning is planned for summer 2021.
For almost 60 years, BEWITAL agri has been developing innovative special feeds for livestock that are both healthy, efficient and sustainable. In production, the company relies on state-of-the-art spraying, mixing and encapsulation technologies, in which they are continuously investing to develop them further. With the latest 6 million euro investment in a new fat spraying tower, BEWITAL agri is driving innovation. In the future, production will be state-of-the-art and, in addition to the expanded capacity and improved energy efficiency, will above all allow even more flexibility with regard to raw materials and mixtures.
The production of energy feedstuffs from vegetable fats has a long tradition in Südlohn-Oeding, Germany. As early as 1985, BEWITAL agri invested in the development of a special spray freezing technique to make various vegetable oils usable for the animal. The resulting fine crystalline fat powders are easy to digest, store and process due to their high pourability.
To this day, the spraying of fats is one of the company’s most important activities. In order to be able to continue producing these special feedstuffs according to the latest state-of-the-art and for an even wider range of applications, the company relies on a new spraying tower. This has now been successfully installed. In summer 2021 it will be put into operation for the production of high-energy concentrates for cattle, pig, poultry and fish feeding and will replace the previous one.
KNOW-HOW IN SPRAY TECHNOLOGY
In addition to its own products for the efficient energy supply of livestock, the company also produces customised solutions according to customer requirements. For the realisation of individual concepts, the worldwide customer base can rely on the manufacturer’s decades of know-how with special technologies and raw materials as well as the scientific advice provided by BEWITAL agri’s own research and product development department.
“The investment in a new spray tower is an important milestone for the growth of our company. Our many years of experience in this field as well as the latest requirements of the customers have been incorporated into the project planning. Furthermore, it was important for us to take sustainability aspects into account. Therefore, only environmentally friendly coolants are used in production. With the new tower, we are setting ourselves up for the future in the long term,” emphasises Jürgen Petershagen, Managing Director at BEWITAL agri.
The new tower opens up new possibilities for the forage producer:
• Production “State-of-the-art
• Expansion of capacity
• Increasing flexibility (e.g. with regard to greater use of European raw materials)
• Significantly improved energy efficiency (e.g. through the use of new refrigeration technology)
• An optimal end product depending on the application and customer requirements (e.g. fine, but also coarse structures are possible)
• Improvement of working conditions by adding more floors to the building
