One of the world’s largest schemes for safe and sustainable feed, GMP+ International has passed another significant milestone, it now actively certifies more than 20,000 companies across the entire feed chain worldwide.

Managing Director for GMP+ International, Martine Boon, welcomed the news, “This achievement is the product of three decades of collaboration, passion, and determination from feed professionals around the world. It reflects the effort the industry has made to prioritise feed safety, the trust they have placed in us as a standard setter, and the growing importance they are placing on sustainability. Our team, and the whole GMP+ community, rightly deserve to feel proud of where we are today, and what the future holds.”

GMP+ International was established in 1992 to address concerns around feed contamination. It has grown into the world’s largest feed safety scheme and is now increasingly supporting the industry with their sustainability certification needs.

The 20,000th company to be certified under the GMP+ Feed Certification (FC) scheme is Biomix Poland, which provides a range of supplementary feed mixes for cattle farmers. Renata Szwarc – Member of the Board of Directors, Sandra Hemerling – Customer Service and Quality Specialist for Biomix said, “We are enormously proud to be the 20,000th GMP+ certified company in the world today. We know how important safety and trust are in our industry, and we look forward to playing our part in a global community that prioritises feed safety.”

All certified companies are audited by independent Certification Bodies (CBs) to ensure they meet GMP+ International’s scheme requirements. Global Quality is the CB that authorised Biomix, and their Certification Manager Julia Konstanty-Szewczak stated, “It is a great honour for us to certify our 20,000th GMP+ customer! The Global Quality certification body has been operating in the GMP+ certification sector for just over two years, which makes it all the more special for us to have contributed to another milestone in the development of the international GMP+ standard.”

According to the announcement, this accomplishment underscores GMP+ International’s position as the market leader for feed certification. With more than 20,000 certified companies already setting the standard for safe and sustainable feed, GMP+ International invites others in the feed chain to join this global community and take the next step toward safe and sustainable feed, worldwide.
