In July 2025, Skretting’s factories in Italy, Vietnam and Australia were certified according to the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Feed Standard, which was launched in June 2021, responding to growing global demand for transparency and ethical sourcing in aquaculture. In early 2024, Skretting was awarded its first ASC certificate at its Osorno plant in Chile. Other Skretting facilities soon followed suit with ASC certifications in Ecuador, Honduras, Canada, Norway, Japan, and Spain.

Companies that are ASC Feed Standard certified demonstrate that they are committed to using responsibly-sourced ingredients, and are able to meet the highest international standards for traceability, environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

In July 2025, remarkable progress was made with three additional Skretting factories joining the ranks of ASC-certified facilities. On July 7, Skretting Italy became the first feed plant in Italy to achieve the certification. Just two weeks later, Skretting Vietnam became the first in Vietnam to be certified for both shrimp and fish feed. The month concluded with yet another milestone on July 28, as Skretting Australia became the first feed facility in Australia to obtain certification. With these achievements, Skretting now has 10 ASC-certified factories around the world.

“Our purpose is feeding the future, and an important part of this is strengthening our position as a leader within sustainability. By continuing to expand the number of ASC-certified operations we have across the globe, Skretting is offering assurance to all its customers and partners, and creating real value in the aquaculture industry,” says Jorge Diaz, Sustainability & Communications Director at Skretting.

Skretting highlights that its growing portfolio of ASC-certified facilities comes at a significant moment for the global seafood industry. As expectations continue to rise, from consumers, retailers, and regulators, certified feed mills like Skretting’s are helping to reshape aquaculture from the ground up. These certifications are more than just compliance milestones; they reportedly reflect Skretting’s deep commitment to responsible practices that benefit not only its customers, but also the communities, ecosystems, and supply chains it is part of.
