GSA welcomes Citlali Gómez Lepe to Board of Directors

Citlali Gómez Lepe, who has more than two decades of experience in commercial and rural aquaculture, has joined the Board of Directors of The Global Seafood Alliance (GSA).

The Global Seafood Alliance (GSA) has announced that Citlali Gómez Lepe, President of Comepesca, has joined its Board of Directors.

Gómez Lepe has more than two decades of experience in commercial and rural aquaculture. She and her family founded Neminatura, a multi-species aquaculture facility, in 1992 and since then have been breeding rainbow trout and developing small-scale projects for responsible agriculture and aquaculture in Central Mexico.

“I’m honored to join the Global Seafood Alliance’s Board of Directors,” said Gómez Lepe. “I believe strongly in GSA’s mission to promote responsible practices throughout the seafood supply chain. I look forward to contributing my experience and passion for this industry to support the organization’s important work worldwide.”

Gómez Lepe is also the founder of Pesca con Futuro, a market-based industry movement that seeks to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable fishing and aquaculture and promotes responsible production and consumption of sustainable seafood in Mexico. Pesca con Futuro is part of the organization Consejo Mexicano de Promoción de los Productos Pesqueros y Acuícolas (Comepesca), which aims to promote consumption of Mexican seafood products. She has been the president of Comepesca since 2017. She is also the founder of Alpescas, the Latin American Alliance for Sustainable Fishing.
