Tonisity has announced that Dr. Stefan Buzoianu has joined the company’s Board of Directors. This decision is highlighted as an important step in Tonisity’s long-term strategy to strengthen scientific excellence, data-driven decision-making, and professional governance within the organisation.
The inclusion of Buzoianu on the Board is more than a promotion, the company remarks. It is a strategic move that reinforces Tonisity’s identity as a company grounded in professionalism, transparency, and scientific rigor.

Buzoianu joined Tonisity on September 10 2018, initially as an R&D Project Manager. Over the following seven years, he advanced to Senior Scientist and later to Technical Director – Livestock and Applied Research.

• Led several of the most complex and influential research projects,
• Supported the scientific backbone of the product claims and field methodologies,
His work has helped position Tonisity as a global company in data-driven animal nutrition solutions.
LEADING COMPLEX AND HIGH-IMPACT RESEARCH
Some of his most notable contributions include:
• Testing Tonisity products in new and challenging production environments,
• Following pigs from early-life interventions all the way through to finishing,
• Validating protocols in health-challenged herds, providing real-world robustness,
• Conducting large-scale meta-analyses integrating hundreds of datasets,
These projects have strengthened the understanding of product performance and helped translate scientific findings into practical, farm-level results.
A CAREER ROOTED IN SCIENCE AND INNOVATION
Before joining Tonisity, Stefan Buzoianu built a diverse and respected career in research and animal health. His background includes: A solid foundation as a Veterinarian, a PhD in Animal Health, research roles at Teagasc and Waterford Institute of Technology, specialist work in encapsulation technologies at AnaBio Technologies.
His expertise spans statistical analysis, gut health, troubleshooting, experimental design, and manufacturing process improvement.
