PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk and the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) have partnered to advance research in soybean-based poultry nutrition and strengthen development across Southeast Asia.

Malaysia-based animal feed producer PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk has signed a feed trial protocol with the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) at an event at the Rinjani Room of the Grand Hyatt Jakarta on February 4, 2026. The signing of this trial protocol is the result of cooperation between USSEC and the Malindo Research and Development Centre (MRDC) and is intended to support the implementation of a joint feed trial between USSEC and PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk. This collaboration forms part of efforts to strengthen research and development in soybean-based poultry feed nutrition, particularly in the Southeast Asia region.
The event was opened with remarks by Jim Sutter, CEO of USSEC, followed by brief remarks from Luke Lindberg, Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs at United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The main highlight of the event was the signing of the USSEC–Malindo Joint Feed Trial Protocol by Jim Sutter, Timothy Loh, Regional Director for Southeast Asia at USSEC, Lau Joo Kiang, Director of PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk, and Dr. Chee Seng Huan, Head of Nutrition Services of PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk.
Following the signing ceremony, the program continued with a discussion session and a group photo session. Participants then received a presentation on USSEC’s feeding trial programs in Southeast Asia by Dr. Basilisa Reas, Technical Director Animal Utilization for East Asia at USSEC, as well as a screening of a profile video of the MRDC, introducing its research facilities for broiler, layer, and breeder chickens.
MRDC is an integrated poultry research center based on PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk’s farm operations and is equipped with modern and comprehensive housing systems to support research implementation with various scales and experimental designs.
Research activities at MRDC focus on fundamental feed nutrition, including animal nutritional requirements, comparative studies and feasibility of feed raw materials and feed additives, breeder performance, and digestibility trials of raw materials. Since commencing operations in late 2021, MRDC has conducted dozens of broiler and layer trials annually and has established research collaborations with various leading international companies, including USSEC.
