dsm-firmenich and Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) Philippines have signed an MoU to implement dsm-firmenich’s life cycle assessment (LCA) platform Sustell™ to measure and improve the environmental footprint of animal proteins.

One of the leading innovators in health, nutrition, and beauty, dsm-firmenich has announced a strategic partnership with Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) Philippines Corporation, an agro-industrial and food conglomerate.
The two organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement dsm-firmenich’s Sustell™ platform, one of the leading life cycle assessment (LCA) platforms for animal protein to measure and improve the environmental footprint of animal proteins.
Dr. David Nickell, Vice President Sustainability and Business Solutions at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health said: “We are committed to helping improve the sustainability of our food systems. We are proud to partner with CPF Philippines to help them improve the sustainability of animal farming. By leveraging precise, scalable, and credible assessments of a product’s environmental footprint from farm to fork, we can empower consumers with informed choices and drive meaningful progress toward more sustainable food production.”
The agreement, signed on August 3, 2024, reportedly marks a milestone in CPF Philippines’ ongoing sustainability journey. As one of the pioneers in voluntary environmental initiatives within the Philippine animal farming sector, CPF Philippines aims to tackle one of the most pressing global challenges: Sustainable food production. By adopting Sustell™, CPF is expected to transform previously unseen environmental data into clear, actionable insights.
Mr. Sakol Cheewakoset, Chairman and President at CPF Philippines explained: “Our collaboration with dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health marks a significant step in our commitment to enhancing sustainability throughout the entire value chain. By harnessing their animal nutrition expertise and cutting-edge technologies, we are confident in our ability to drive sustainable growth within the animal farming sector. This partnership is crucial not only for advancing food security but also for promoting the long-term well-being of our society and the environment.”
