
Devenish Nutrition North America has appointed Dr. Miguel A. Barrios as its new Poultry Technical Sales Nutritionist, where he will be focusing on the sales of the company’s poultry products to the turkey industry.
Dr. Miguel A. Barrios has joined Devenish Nutrition North America as the new Poultry Technical Sales Nutritionist. He has over 10 years of experience in monogastric nutrition, research, and technical service while holding key roles in technical sales and business development within the animal health industry.
Dr. Barrios was born and raised in Venezuela to veterinarian parents. He earned his Ph.D. in Poultry Science from the University of Georgia, where his dissertation focused on diagnosing and preventing Blackhead Disease. He also holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Animal Science from Kansas State University, with research spanning microbiological techniques and poultry nutrition.
Throughout his career, Dr. Barrios has led commercial and technical initiatives supporting broiler, layer, turkey, and swine production. His core areas of expertise include gut health, pathogen control, and enzyme application.
He has published peer-reviewed research, delivered presentations at national and international scientific conferences, and mentored undergraduate researchers while also contributing to industry advancement through service on scientific committees, student competitions, and extension programs.
Dr. Miguel A. Barrios brings a practical, research-driven perspective to solving complex challenges in animal agriculture and is passionate about driving innovation and sustainability in livestock production. His primary role as Poultry Technical Sales Nutritionist with Devenish NA will be focusing on sales of the company’s poultry products to the turkey industry.
