Joining Devenish North America as its new Commercial Director, Derek Gaffney will be supporting the strategic growth of the business while working directly with the swine, poultry, and ruminant divisions.
Devenish North America has welcomed Derek Gaffney as its new Commercial Director. With 35 years of experience in the animal nutrition and feed additive industry, Gaffney’s knowledge, extensive industry experience, and exceptional leadership skills make him an exciting addition to the Devenish NA team, according to the announcement.
Gaffney’s experience includes 22 years in multiple roles spanning from feed mill quality assurance and production management, to ruminant nutrition and sales.
Additionally, he spent seven years as Export Commercial Director at a feed additive development company where he gained experience in feed additive development, production, patenting, and international sales in Europe, Asia, Middle East, and North and South America.
Finally, Derek Gaffney spent six years as CEO for an animal and food nutrition company based in Ireland working with advanced animal nutrition for the benefit of human health from algae where he built a team around the purpose of improving human health through better animal nutrition. Key accomplishments include delivering the first Omega-3 chicken in Saudi Arabia, Omega-3 eggs across all M+S stores in the UK, and leading the team to significant partnerships in Europe.
Originally from Ireland and living in Finland for the past 12+ years, Gaffney will be relocating to Minnesota where he joins the Devenish North America team supporting the strategic growth of the business while working directly with Devenish swine, poultry, and ruminant divisions.
