Bioiberica, a global life sciences company, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025 with a significant milestone: The launch of a renewed brand identity that reflects its commitment to the future and its fundamental purpose. This strategic rebrand marks the culmination of half a century of dedication to advancing the health and well-being of people, animals and plants, the company points out.

The new branding presents a refreshed corporate purpose, “Making the world a healthier and safer place “, and a revamped tagline, “We are all one”, which accompanies its logo. To complement this transformation, the company has also launched its new website, www.bioiberica.com, designed to showcase this renewed visual identity. The digital platform will offer a unified user experience, with a clearer information architecture tailored to its customers across each of the three main business areas it serves (people, animals and plants), reflecting the essence of Bioiberica from the inside out.

GUIDED BY THE “ONE HEALTH” APPROACH
Since its foundation in Palafolls, Barcelona, in 1975, Bioiberica has been a pioneer in the research, production and marketing of naturally sourced biomolecules, guided by its “One Health” approach. The 50th anniversary not only commemorates five decades of presence in the sector, highlighting its position as one of the world’s leading producers of the active ingredient heparin, which helps save more than 100 million lives a year, but also underlines how its vision of interconnected health is a catalyst for innovation. The Spanish company highlights that it approaches science from a collaborative perspective and reinforces its role as a driver of scientific, sustainable and quality progress around the world.

“Celebrating our 50th anniversary with such a significant rebrand underscores our deep connection to life and science, and the dedication of our team – comprised of over 500 professionals operating in nine global production centres – to deliver a portfolio of more than 100 products to more than 80 countries,” says Luis Solera, CEO of Bioiberica. “Our purpose, ‘Making the world a healthier and safer place’, together with the slogan ‘We are all one’, encapsulate our vision of ‘one health’, where the well-being of people, animals and the planet are inseparable. The new website is the digital window that showcases this evolution, consolidating our history and projecting our future with clarity and transparency, always backed by the scientific rigour of our entire product range.”

As part of this renewed identity, Bioiberica is reportedly deepening the pillars that have marked its history and define its commitment to a healthier and safer future for everyone. These fundamental principles guide the company’s activity in each of its divisions and reflect its global impact.

To celebrate this milestone, Bioiberica organized a “Family Day”, inviting all its employees and their families to an open day at its factory in Palafolls. It was a unique opportunity to get a close look at the facilities, show what the company does, and enjoy activities and a meal together, thus reinforcing the sense of community and pride of belonging to the Bioiberica family, the company remarks.

PROMOTING HEALTH THROUGH INNOVATION AND SCIENCE
Bioiberica explains that science and innovation are the driving forces behind its progress and firm commitment to transforming health and well-being. Thanks to constant investment in scientific research, the company specialises in the development and production of biological molecules with high therapeutic value.

Bioiberica is one of the world leaders in the manufacture of the active ingredient heparin (the most widely used anticoagulant in medicine) and a global benchmark in the production and marketing of other active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) of biological origin, such as chondroitin sulphate, glucosamine and thyroid extract. Innovation in health is a strategic priority, and Bioiberica’s recent research and development (R&D) includes more than 40 projects, with collaborations in more than 30 research centres across 10 countries.

The company increases its investment in R&D every year, enabling it to advance science and develop new molecules, active and branded ingredients in collaboration with international strategic partners, consolidating its position as an important player in the advancement of life sciences on a global scale.
