IPIFF annual conference to be held on Dec. 1 in Belgium

The International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed (IPIFF) will hold its annual conference in Brussels, Belgium on December 1st.

The one-day conference entitled “Maximising the contribution of alternative sources of proteins towards sustainable food systems: Opportunities and challenges at European level” will take place at the Bedford Hotel.

IPIFF, which had to organize its last few events online due to Covid 19 pandemic, is preparing to hold its annual conference physically, respecting the current Covid restrictions. The conference will consist of two sessions: “Harnessing EU policy opportunities: Perspectives from various stakeholders” and “Shaping tomorrow’s food systems: Perspectives from producers’ associates of alternative proteins”.

Following the welcoming words of IPIFF President Adriana Casillas, keynote speakers Felix Leinemann from the European Commission and Clara Aguilera from the European Parliament will address the conference participants. Several representatives from the leading players of the industry will also deliver speeches during the event, which will also include panel discussions and presentations.

IPIFF has also opened the possibility to participating organisations to profile their institution, as well as their research and innovation projects.
