EuroTier 2026, scheduled for November 10–13 in Hanover, Germany, will once again serve as a key meeting point for innovations in livestock feed, feeding management and forage production. Held under the guiding theme “Intelligence in animal farming”, the exhibition will present a comprehensive technical program focusing on emission reduction, alternative protein sources in animal nutrition and efficient forage production and preservation.

Feeding strategies play a central role in livestock production, directly influencing animal performance, farm economics and environmental impacts. Improving feed efficiency through precise nutrient supply, minimizing feed losses along the entire feed chain and optimizing forage quality are among the main approaches discussed at the event.

Reducing emissions is a major focus of the program. Feeding practices strongly affect nitrogen and phosphorus excretion as well as ammonia, nitrous oxide and methane emissions. Measures such as efficient forage production, precise ration formulation and improved silage and storage management can significantly contribute to lowering emission intensity while maintaining animal performance and farm profitability.

In pig and poultry production, nutrient-reduced feeding strategies will also be highlighted. Lowering crude protein levels and precisely balancing amino acids can reduce nitrogen excretion and ammonia emissions while maintaining productivity.

The DLG Spotlight “Emission Reduction” will present practical solutions and technologies that support environmentally responsible livestock production. Experts and exhibitors will discuss how feeding strategies can help balance environmental protection, animal welfare and economic performance.

Forage quality remains a decisive factor for productive ruminant systems. Losses along the forage chain—from field to feeding—can significantly affect feed efficiency and animal performance. At EuroTier, exhibitors will showcase modern technologies and best practices aimed at improving forage quality, fermentation stability and feed hygiene.

The exhibition will also feature the DLG Spotlight “Forage Production”, highlighting digital and smart-farming technologies that optimize forage production from cutting to ensiling. The program will be complemented by the new Forage Days on November 12 and 13, as well as the “DLG Expert Stage Ruminants”, focusing on needs-based ruminant feeding strategies.
