Dr. Gabriela Martinez and Rich Nichols join CSA Animal Nutrition’s team

CSA Animal Nutrition, US-based nutritional solutions and services company, announced that Dr. Gabriela Martinez as Swine Nutritionist and Rich Nichols as Account Manager has joined its team.

Dr. Martinez will provide nutrition consulting, formulation services, and technical consulting to support swine clients at CSA. She will work with customers to achieve production goals and improve their economic outcome.

“Martinez is an excellent addition to the CSA nutrition team, and we are excited about the skills and next generation perspective that she brings to CSA,” said Charles Shininger, President of CSA Animal Nutrition. “At CSA, we are investing and building our talented team with nutritionists that have the nutrition knowledge and skills that can deliver value to our clients.

Martinez earned her B.S. degree from Pan-American Agriculture School, Zamorano. After graduation, she obtained an internship with Smithfield foods where she gained industry experience in commercial sow-farms. Later, she joined the Animal Science Department of North Carolina State University as a research scholar. During her internship she collaborated with various research assisting masters and doctorate students, and with industry companies such as Hanor Family of Companies. This encouraged her to pursue her master’s degree which allowed her to combine her research experience and swine production knowledge. She then completed her Ph.D. at North Carolina State University where she focused on animal science and nutrition sciences.

Nichols will focus on developing company’s nutrition consulting and services business with swine producers and feed manufacturers primarily in the states of Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri for CSA. He will work with customers and prospective clients to help them achieve their production and business goals along with improving their economic outcome.

Prior to joining CSA, Nichols worked at United Farmers Cooperative, where he served as a Retail Feed Specialist. Nichols is located in Iowa and will work primarily in the central corn belt.
