Techna to unveil its latest innovations for livestock at EuroTier 2024

Techna will be unveiling its latest innovations in precision nutrition and natural health for livestock farming at EuroTier 2024, from 12 to 15 November. Additionally, the company will be organising a conference on the reproductive health of ruminants on 13 November.

Techna to unveil its latest innovations for livestock at EuroTier 2024At the EuroTier 2024 trade fair, to be held from 12 to 15 November in Hanover, Germany, Techna, the French expert in animal nutrition, will be presenting its know-how and latest solutions for improving feed efficiency, reproductive performance and animal welfare. These solutions, designed for feed manufacturers, production organisations and livestock farmers, reaffirm the group’s commitment to the sustainable performance of the livestock industry, according to Techna.

Additionally, Techna will be organising a conference on optimizing ruminants’ reproductive health on November 13 at Convention center B Room Heidelberg.

PROMOTING POULTRY WELL-BEING
Having already made a commitment to improving animal welfare for pigs with the RobusZen solution, the group explains it is now extending this expertise to poultry with the launch of “GALLICALM” in its ‘Feedia’ range: a premix of additives composed of active plant ingredients designed to reduce stress in poultry rearing, and to limit deviant behaviour such as pecking between birds, which can lead to feather loss, injuries and even serious complications such as cannibalism.

Tested in partnership with New Castle University, Techna points out that “GALLICALM” reduces severe pecking by an average of 30%. This natural solution, which can be incorporated into feed for all types of poultry (layers, chickens, ducks and guinea fowl), also helps to limit the use of medicinal treatments and encourages poultry farming that is more respectful of the poultry’s needs.

OPTIMISING THE PROFITABILITY OF CATTLE FARMS
With the constant expansion of herds, effective management of reproduction from calving onwards is essential to optimise the production performance of cattle farms. To support farmers, Techna has developed the “METRABOL” bolus, a natural feed supplement from the ‘Natual’ range, designed to promote the reproductive health of cows by accelerating the recovery of the uterus after calving.

Developed in collaboration with animal reproduction experts and tested on a sample of 40,000 cows, the “Metrabol” bolus significantly increases the chances of a successful first artificial insemination, reducing the interval between calvings by an average of 6.4 days. As a result, 8 out of 10 cows are ready to breed just 30 days after calving.

This solution reportedly enables farmers to increase the profitability of their herds. In addition, the health benefits of the Metrabol solution are helping to limit the use of antibiotics on farms.

To optimise feed costs and farm performance, Techna is offering a solution from its “Feedia” range to maximise energy use in dairy and beef cattle: “ELENSIS”. Techna explains that this blend of natural active ingredients acts on two levels:
In the rumen, by increasing the production of volatile fatty acids and the propionate/acetate ratio;
And in the intestine, by improving the absorption of nutrients.
This Techna innovation has been developed to increase milk production by +1.5 kg per cow per day and growth with +4 to +6% average daily gain. This also translates into a reduction in feed costs of 1 to 3%, increasing the margin on feed costs for feed manufacturers.

“Since its creation, Techna has used its expertise to enhance the value of feed resources by developing solutions to produce more with fewer resources. By analysing over 45,000 raw materials according to more than 300 nutritional criteria, we design optimised feed formulas for each species at each of their physiological stages, thereby helping to improve feed efficiency,” says Jean-Marc Pinsault, Chairman of Techna.

At the same time, to improve protein digestibility in aquaculture feeds, Techna states it has developed “ECONOMIX” in its “Feedia” range, a premix of plant- based additives designed to stimulate acid production and enzymatic activity in the digestive tract of fish and shrimp. This unique process:
• Facilitates the breakdown and absorption of proteins
• Reduces crude protein requirements and the inclusion of 1% and 2% fishmeal
• Replaces animal proteins with more sustainable and profitable plant proteins
• And reduces feed costs by 1 to 3%, while maintaining optimum growth performance.

To find out more about these innovations, attendees can find Techna at in Hall 20, Stand C04.
