Royal Agrifirm Group and VetosEurope have announced an exclusive distribution partnership to advance sustainable dairy farming with Anavrin. The partnership will officially start on the second day of EuroTier 2024, which will be held from 12-15 November.
In a major stride toward a more profitable and sustainable agriculture, Royal Agrifirm Group and VetosEurope have announced an exclusive distribution partnership for Anavrin, an innovative feed additive for ruminants designed to reduce methane emissions in livestock farming and support performance. The companies point out that this agreement, covering select European countries, highlights a commitment to enhancing productivity while mitigating environmental impact.
A SHARED VISION FOR SUSTAINABILITY
According to the companies, at the core of their partnership is a shared mission: to revolutionize dairy farming by reducing its environmental footprint and increasing efficiency. Anavrin’s introduction aligns perfectly with global efforts to combat climate change and promote sustainable livestock management.
Anavrin is a unique blend of natural and nature-identical components, including essential oils, tannins, and bioflavonoids. Extensive research and field trials, including those conducted by Wageningen University, have demonstrated Anavrin’s ability to significantly reduce methane emissions. Additionally, it is reportedly the first product to convert this energy-savings into a tangible advantage for animals, as trials have shown significant improvements in milk yield per cow.
ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Beyond its environmental benefits, the companies claim that Anavrin offers substantial economic advantages. The increases in milk yield translates into significant profitability for farmers, considering current milk prices. A quick calculation shows that even a modest production increase of 0.3 liters per animal per day* would already cover the product cost, making Anavrin a financially compelling choice for farmers.

“For the first time, a natural product manages to not only reduce methane emissions, but also improve milk production. At last, reducing the methane emissions by the livestock industry is not only good for the planet, but also profitable for farmers. This is a truly unique innovation that we did not want to withhold from our customers,” said Benoit Anquetil, Strategic Portfolio Director Specialties at Royal Agrifirm Group.
EXPANDED MARKET REACH THROUGH STRATEGIC DISTRIBUTION
According to the announcement, this new partnership leverages Royal Agrifirm Group’s strong European network, ensuring that the European livestock (beef and dairy) industry can also benefit from enhanced profitability and sustainability.

“We are very excited to start our cooperation with Royal Agrifirm Group. Thanks to this partnership Anavrin will now be available to the majority of farmers across Europe, resulting in more sustainable and environmentally-friendly animal farming,” pointed out Gianluigi Sgarbi, COO of VetosEurope
SCIENTIFIC BACKING AND GLOBAL IMPACT
The efficacy of Anavrin is underpinned by rigorous scientific studies, including trials conducted in Wageningen University’s metabolic chambers. The findings in this specific study demonstrate a 13% reduction in methane emissions and a 16.3% reduction in methane intensity. Similar results with methane reductions of up to 21% were confirmed by independent studies in Uruguay using SF6 technology, and by a study conducted at the University of Milan, showcasing Anavrin’s global applicability.
COMPLEMENTING ROYAL AGRIFIRM GROUP’S PORTFOLIO
The Royal Agrifirm Group points out its existing portfolio of sustainable solutions will be complemented by Anavrin, offering dairy farmers an even more comprehensive suite of tools to improve productivity, profitability, and sustainability.
The kickoff will be held at Royal Agrifirm Group’s booth E09, Hall 21, on November 13 at EuroTier 2024. This event will mark the official start of a partnership set to redefine sustainable dairy farming.
