Intestinal Health Scientific Interest Group invites poultry professionals, scientists, veterinarians and nutritionists to the 9th International Conference on Poultry Intestinal Health to be held from April 22-24, 2026 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The 9th International Conference on Poultry Intestinal Health is set to take place in the vibrant city of Istanbul, Turkey, a unique location straddling the borders of Asia and Europe, from April 22nd to April 24th, 2026.
The 9th Conference on Poultry Intestinal Health in Istanbul will feature keynote presentations from internationally renowned experts, offering the latest scientific insights. The program will include diverse sessions, short communications, discussions, and ample networking opportunities. Topics will cover key aspects of poultry gut health, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience for all attendees.
Filip Van Immerseel and Maarten De Gussem, organizers and co-chairs of the conference, said in a statement about the event: “Poultry production is experiencing significant global shifts, presenting new challenges in disease control and performance optimization. Reduced antimicrobial usage and heightened focus on animal welfare have accelerated scientific and technological advances, especially in understanding the intestine as a key organ. The intestinal tract is not just a center of digestion; it plays a critical role in immune development, disease resistance, and overall animal health, driven by interactions with diet, microbiota, and various additives.”
“These advancements have opened new research avenues, focusing on novel feed additives, biomarkers, and enhanced insights into intestinal health. The complex challenges within the intestinal habitat—such as coccidia, mycotoxins, and pathogenic microbes—necessitate innovative preventive and therapeutic strategies, including vaccines, biosecurity measures, and advanced diagnostic tools,” Van Immerseel and De Gussem continued.
And they added: “Over the last decade, technological breakthroughs have fueled collaborations between academia and industry, leading to the development of nutritional interventions, therapeutic solutions, and novel vaccines targeting intestinal diseases. This synergy has created a dynamic platform for advancing poultry intestinal health management.”
To foster continued collaboration among scientists, industry professionals, government bodies, and all stakeholders in the poultry production sector, the Poultry Intestinal Health Conferences have been successfully held across the globe, with recent editions in Rome and Manila. Attendance has grown exponentially, with over 800 participants from more than 50 countries at the last conference.
