How will be the future that awaits us?

Dear readers,

Derya Yıldız

To begin with, thank you very much for your interest in the first issue of our magazine, published in February, and for your approaches that encouraged and motivated us. The feedback we received not only showed us that we were on the right path, but also enabled all industry stakeholders who contributed to the preparation of this magazine to find a reward for their efforts. I hope this issue will be as interesting for you as the first one.

Now, let’s move on to the March issue;

As Feed & Additive, we covered two specific topics on the feed industry’s agenda this month: global warming and the insect industry.

As you may know, gases such as methane and nitrous oxide from the livestock industry have a significant impact on global warming. Studies are being conducted on many different scenarios to reduce this impact and the carbon footprint of the livestock industry. Many studies are still on track on many topics ranging from reducing the number of cattle to genetic changes, vaccine options, feed additives that regulate intestinal activities, and different nutritional diets. You can find details on this subject and sample solutions of some important companies operating in the animal nutrition industry in this issue of our magazine.

And our featured story on the insect industry will open up an important horizon for the future. Because new resources are needed to feed the rapidly growing world population and ensure the sustainable growth of the livestock industry. The insect industry is one of these alternative sources and is showing a very rapid growth momentum. What is the place of insects, which are considered as both human food and animal feed components, in our future? How will insects, or insect-based proteins, contribute to sustainability? What are the advantages of insects as a feed component? Important representatives of the industry have addressed the answers to all these questions and much more for you.

These two topics, which came together in our March issue, will apparently shape our future significantly. But it is so hard to know exactly how… As long as our effort is to do our best for humanity, we can still feel hopeful about the future …

Wish to meet you again in our next issue…
