Set to be operational from mid-Q4 2025, the facility is expected to significantly enhance supply security and logistics efficiency for Veramaris customers. The new tank will improve supply security for its customers in Europe by allowing more Veramaris algae oil to be shipped in bulk—alongside other high-volume raw materials—directly to coastal aquafeed factories, reducing costs, complexity, and carbon emissions. Merwetank, a specialist in food-grade bulk logistics, will operate the tank, which includes advanced features to preserve product quality and integrity. “This new setup brings our product much closer to customers’ existing supply chains,” said Holger Kinzel, CFO of Veramaris. “It’s a great example of how we’re scaling up with our partners to support bulk deliveries and the continued growth of sustainable aquaculture.” Veramaris highlights that it is the first in the industry to offer bulk storage and support bulk delivery of algae oil at this scale. The product holds FAMI-QS certification, underscoring the company’s commitment to quality, safety, and transparency. In addition, Merwetank is FSSC 22000 and GMP+ certified, ensuring the highest standards across the entire supply chain.
