NEWS 102 FEED & ADDITIVE MAGAZINE October 2025 Feedworks USA introduced the Feedworks Lytes™ Hydration Program to the Northern Mexico ruminant market. This comprehensive, scientifically formulated product line is backed by leading experts in cattle hydration and designed to support optimal performance in beef and dairy animals, the company remarks. By encouraging cattle to hydrate themselves, Feedworks Lytes helps animals recover faster, adapt more easily to stressors, and maintain productivity under challenging conditions. The company highlights the program as including: • Feedworks Lytes™ for Cattle – a ready-to-use, post-weaning through mature cattle oral hydration supplement for beef and dairy animals. When mixed in water or feed, this highly palatable supplement provides a source of energy, electrolytes and select vitamins. Producers should use Feedworks Lytes for Cattle when animals are facing periods of stress, such as post-weaning, during transitions to new pens or water sources, health challenges, shipping/receiving, environmental changes, and supporting high-risk cattle. • Feedworks Lytes™ for Calves – an oral hydration calf supplement specifically formulated to support hydration and electrolyte balance in pre-weaned calves during periods of illness and stress. It provides electrolytes, an energy source and glycine. Feedworks Lytes for Calves features a unique flavor to attract and encourage water consumption. Available in a 10-dose resealable bag, calf raisers can mix it easily with water, milk or milk replacer. De Heus says that the opening ceremony highlights its commitment to investing in Africa’s food security and agricultural development. The new De Heus aqua feed facility, strategically located near Jinja—a central hub for aquaculture—will produce high-quality fish feeds for farmers throughout East Africa, the company stated. At full capacity, the factory will supply up to 100,000 metric tons of fish feed annually, significantly reducing dependence on imports and improving feed access for fish farmers. “We see tremendous potential in Uganda’s aquaculture sector, and this investment is a testament to our long-term vision for the region,” said Co de Heus, De Heus’ Chairman of the Board of Directors. “The new facility will not only enhance the efficiency and quality of the fish feed supply chain but also support local crop farmers by sourcing ingredients like maize, cassava, and soybeans.” In alignment with De Heus’ global strategy for sustainable growth, the factory is built with sustainability in mind, including a biomass boiler to minimize fossil fuel use and a focus on prioritizing local ingredients. According to the announcement, this approach minimizes environmental impact while strengthening Uganda’s agricultural sector. Read more>> De Heus opens fish feed factory in Uganda Photo: De Heus
