NEWS FEED & ADDITIVE MAGAZINE June 2025 101 In line with its expansion plan, Spain-based Uvesa Group acquired the facilities of a hatchery in the La Rioja town of Alfaro, marking a significant milestone by becoming the group’s first centre of operations in the autonomous community of La Rioja. This centre, previously managed by HG&P-Layers Ibérica and dedicated to the production of eggs for human consumption, will transform its activity to focus on the production of chicken meat, one of the main business lines of the Navarrese Group. Uvesa points out that the hatchery currently has a capacity of 230,000 eggs per week, which translates into the production of approximately 200,000 chicks per week. Fully equipped and ready to operate, this facility will enable the company to respond more efficiently to growing market demand. Looking to the future, Uvesa Group revealed its plans to acquire two new breeder farms in Alfaro in 2025, which will create five new jobs in the area. These additions will enable the production capacity of hatching eggs to be increased and will consolidate the group’s presence in the region. The group’s management believes that this investment reflects its “firm commitment to the development of the poultry sector, the strengthening of the local industrial fabric and the promotion of sustainable, quality production”.
