NEWS 20 FEED & ADDITIVE MAGAZINE June 2024 HealthTech Bioactives (HTBA), one of the leading innovators in polyphenol and vitamin B12 solutions for human and animal health and nutrition, announced a new partnership with Abolis Biotechnologies for the production of sustainable, valuable polyphenols. This latest collaboration between the two companies encompasses the development of new microbial strains and aims to address challenges relating to the supply of high-quality polyphenols, driving innovation in this fast-growing segment. At a time of increasing interest in the potential of polyphenols for both human and animal health, this latest venture between HTBA and Abolis marks an important step in the development of solvent-free, fermentation-based production methods for these in-demand ingredients. In its initial phase, the partnership will focus on developing two high-value molecules which currently experience limited sourcing availability. Upon the successful completion of this stage, the established protocols will be applied to up to eight additional molecules with the aim of similarly optimizing their development pipeline. The project’s overall goals are to increase and secure polyphenol manufacturing capacities and enable reduced costs compared to traditional extraction methods, according to the statement of the companies. “Our companies have been working successfully together since 2021 and we are still amazed by the Abolis team, whose values align with our own,” comments Alexandre Valls-Coma, CEO of HTBA. “We are delighted to announce this new phase of our partnership and truly believe that it will take polyphenols to the next level and create to more value for our customers.” Read more>> Easy Automation, Inc., one of the international suppliers of automation technology and equipment to the feed manufacturing industry, launched a new Bin Level Order Projection feature in its NexGen® Platform. The new feature allows feed mills to integrate their whole feed manufacturing processes by creating real-time visibility of feed bin levels and the ability to order based on projected empty data. “In our over 35+ years of experience in the feed industry, we continue to see feed mills challenged by out-of-feed events or the pinch of beginning and end-of-week feed order requests. To help feed mills optimize their facility efficiency, our new Bin Level Order Projection feature helps create visibility of upcoming feed needs based on bin levels and allows operators to create orders based on these readings as they are most efficient for the facility,” said Brady Gaalswyk co-president at Easy Automation, Inc. The Bin Level Order Projection allows feed mills to achieve maximum feed mill optimization by forecasting feed usage needs, preventing out-of-feed events, and filtering by location to schedule feed deliveries more efficiently. Built with customer ease of use in mind, the Bin Level Order Projection feature allows for a seamless two-click order creation directly on the bin level screen. Pulling data from multiple sensor and scale vendors, the platform is meant to seamlessly transfer data in and out of the NexGen Office program.
