In this role, Lawrence will work with a team of in-house researchers and experts to develop and execute the swine research program that focuses on optimizing sow lifetime productivity, pig performance and survival, as well as production sustainability, all supported through intelligent nutrition. He will also work with the global strategic marketing and business development teams, supporting the go-to-market strategy that takes solutions from ideation to the farm. “What excites me about this new role is being able to bring the customer perspective as a result of my 25+ years in technical services into the development process of the intelligent nutrition platforms Novus is pursuing for the benefit of the global pork industry,” Lawrence says. Lawrence has spent over two decades working directly with pig producers in the U.S. and Canada, helping them meet their economic goals by supporting the health and growth of sows, piglets, and grow/ finishers. Prior to taking on this new role, he served 17 years as senior technical manager for North America where he collaborated with the R&D and sales teams to develop solutions for customer challenges and conduct trials to analyse and assess the practical impacts to pork producers. In the new role, Dr. Lawrence will move from being a member of the swine technical services team to being an integral part of supporting the team as it brings valuable knowledge and solutions to producers. The company states that especially the Manna MIND climatization technology has been raising interest across the globe since its 2nd generation version was launched in September 2023. "Counting the number of climatization units that have already been sold and shipped or that will be shipped in the next few weeks, in May 2024 we will surpass 50 MIND unit milestone," Manna Insect officials say. According to the company, the milestone is significant, in practice it means that Manna Insect’s technology is the centre piece and enabler of professional level insect production in over 50 insect farming facilities around the world.
