NEWS 84 FEED & ADDITIVE MAGAZINE October 2023 Twenty-four chief executive officers (CEOs) from across the Vietnamese agri-food sector convened at the Alltech Vietnam Agri-food Summit in Ho Chi Minh City to discuss how to sustainably meet the challenges currently facing the industry. Alltech invited the changemakers and thought leaders in attendance to share their insights on various critical topics, including consumer trends, agricultural technologies and the biggest opportunities for the Vietnamese market. The panelists included Dr. Mark Lyons, Vy Thi Thu Hang, feed & nutrition director and CEO of Feedmill, TH Milk; Tara McCarthy, global vice president for ESG at Alltech; and Michael Joseph Sweeney, partner at Bluegrass Partners and director of strategy for Alltech Asia-Pacific. The panel discussion delved into identifying and understanding the prominent shifts and hurdles affecting the agri-food industry in Vietnam at present, and key drivers behind these changes. Several attendees shared their viewpoints regarding the outlook for the agriculture and agri-food sector, expressing whether they hold an optimistic or pessimistic stance on its future trajectory globally and locally. Read more>> FEFAC, the European Compound Feed Manufacturers’ Federation, announced the publication of its 3rd Feed Sustainability Charter Progress Report. The publication is a special edition, dedicated to facilitating the implementation of the ambitions of the FEFAC Feed Sustainability Charter, originally released in September 2020. FEFAC takes advantage of putting additional attention on its earlier publication in June 2023 on Sustainable Animal Feeding Techniques, which was presented at the 30th FEFAC Congress in Ystad, Sweden. FEFAC tries to draw the attention of all food chain partners to the existing feed industry solutions that are available to help its partners in the livestock value chain tackle the sustainability and food security challenges that they are collectively facing. “Three years after the original release of the FEFAC Feed Sustainability Charter, FEFAC seeks to further boost the progress in implementing its key ambitions, showcasing the innovative solutions the sector has to offer to assist the livestock sector with its transition towards more sustainable production systems," said Pedro Cordero, FEFAC President.
