This relationship marks a significant milestone for both companies and the Australian insect industry Under their agreement FGS will supply Black Soldier Fly (BSF) eggs to Goterra, supplementing their existing egg supply to fulfill new contracts, including their largest site to date in Wetherill Park Sydney, with Woolworths as the foundation customer. Duncan Rowland, Chair of the Insect Protein Association Australia (IPAA) commented: “By leveraging the expertise of these two industry leaders we can drive new opportunities, encourage smarter supply chains and shape the sustainable agriculture landscape in Australia.” The IPAA is the industry body for participants in the Australian insect industry. The IPAA promotes the development of insects for animal feed and human food, advocating for an environmentally and economically sustainable local industry. According to the company's statement, Chris Weeks has been promoted to VP of program integrity, and Belinda Braley has been promoted to chief people officer. Chris Weeks joined GSA, then the Global Aquaculture Alliance, in 2017. He was promoted to program integrity manager in 2019 and director in 2021. As VP of program integrity, Weeks oversees GSA’s program integrity team, which is responsible for supporting standards development for GSA’s Best Aquaculture Practices and Best Seafood Practices certification programs, for providing quality assurance, technical support, and training for the certification standards, and for the development and implementation of special projects that align with GSA’s mission to advance responsible seafood practices worldwide through education, advocacy, and demonstration. Promoted to chief people officer, Belinda Braley joined GSA as VP of human resources, diversity, and inclusion in 2018. In her role, she leads all strategic and tactical human resources processes and programs for GSA, manages talent acquisition and development, develops and executes training for the management team as it relates to performance management, and works to strengthen employee engagement through the development of recognition, wellness, communication, career development, and career-planning programs.
