P hilippe Mauguin, CEO of INRAE and Dr. Marc Prikazsky, Chairman & CEO of Ceva Santé Animale, signed a first framework agreement aimed at consolidating their collaboration in ani- mal health. This signature comes in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and the outbreak of avian influenza in France. It affirms a shared objective of conducting joint “One Health” work, a global health concept at the crossroads of animal, human and environmental health and in particular, the pre- vention of infectious diseases of animal origin and the improvement of animal welfare. For over 40 years, the French National Research In- stitute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment (IN- RAE), led by the Carnot France Futur Elevage Insti- tute and Ceva, the leading French-based veterinary biopharmaceutical company, have been conducting joint projects to develop new pharmaceuticals and vaccines for farm animals (poultry, pigs, ruminants). The existing partnership in addition to licens- ing INRAE technologies, involves many forms of collaboration, including exchange of laboratory personnel, testing of anti-infective treatments and vaccines and several joint research projects - the European H2020 Pigs program, Program for In- novative Global Prevention of Streptococcus Suis - scheduled to be completed in 2021. The visions project (tick vaccination), Mardished project (for the protection of Marek’s disease on poultry farms) and the Master 1&2 training program IDOH (In- fectious Diseases and One Health) involving 36 academies and companies and financed by the EU (Erasmus fund) since 2017. INRAE, Ceva strengthen partnership for animal health INRAE and Ceva Santé Animale signed an agreement to strengthen partnership for research and innovation in animal health as a shared commitment to the “One Health” global health concept.
