A lltech Coppens, a glob- al specialist in developing, producing, and marketing fish feed and nutrition solutions, announced the appointment of Ronald Faber as its CEO and global aquaculture lead. In this role, Faber will lead a global team of aquaculture experts who are experienced in fish nutri- tion, feed production and technical support. The team will continue to work together on nutrition and feed sciences, including the im- provement of aquatic feed nutri- tion and sustainability in aquacul- ture, as they help carry out Alltech’s vision for a Planet of Plenty™. ABOUT RONALD FABER Faber received his master’s degree with a specialization in aquacul- ture and fisheries from Wagenin- gen University in the Netherlands. He began his career in the aquacul- ture and veterinary industries and joined Coppens International in 1998 as an area sales manager for the Mediterranean region. In 2003, he moved to Thailand where he worked as a nutritional consultant for various fish and shrimp feed companies, serving customers in Thailand, Vietnam, India and In- donesia. He returned to the Neth- erlands in 2005 and continued his career with Coppens International, which was acquired by Alltech in 2016. Faber will be headquartered at the Alltech Coppens Aqua Cen- tre (ACAC), an Alltech bioscience centre, where world-class research capabilities are applied to product development. Aquaculture continues to play a significant role in the global food supply, with the 2021 All- tech Global Feed Survey estimat- ing aquaculture feed production growth at 3% — the strongest increase of any of the primary food-producing species. NUQO appoints Barentz as strategic distribution partner N UQO has appointed Barentz Animal Nu- trition as the preferred distribution partner for their range of feed additives in the Benelux and several surrounding countries. The new partnership with Barentz is driven by NUQO’s strategic plan to implement the best high-performance distribution network and to further expand its activities in Eu- rope and globally. The NUQO product range consists of several products that combine phyto- and phycogen- ic compounds that are encapsulated to provide maximum efficacy, depending on each species different requirements. The products focus on an improvement in animal performance due to their gut health improving and immune system stim- ulating effects. The different products have been proven effective in several in-vivo and commer- cial trials.
