Pawru will encompass and expand the Boehringer Ingel- heim’s digital collaborative animal healthcare platform, which has been known as PetPro Connect. Pet owners experience the service as a mobile app that links them with their veterinarians for telemedicine appointments, prescription refills, messaging, pet health care content and more. The PetPro products will transition to Pawru branding. Pawru is positioned to acceler- ate the development of Boehring- er Ingelheim’s digital portfolio. The Company will also explore strategic partners to expand its commercial offerings. Pawru has its origins at BI X, an independent subsidiary Boeh- ringer Ingelheim created in 2017 to incubate ideas for digital inno- vation in healthcare. Since mak- ing PetPro Connect available na- tionwide in March 2020 to meet the sudden demand for telemed- icine created by COVID-19 so- cial-distancing requirements, the platform has soared to serve more than 1 million pets. PetPro products transition to Pawru branding Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA Inc. announced the creation of Pawru, Inc. as a separate Company within the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health business. The company’s PetPro portfolio will transition to Pawru branding. C haroen Pokphand Foods PCL (CP Foods) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chiang Mai University to develop in- sect-based protein from Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens), embracing Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG) model and driving Thai agriculture industry towards a sustainable growth. The agreement, which was recently signed by Clinical Professor Niwes Nantachit, M.D., Pres- ident of Chiang Mai University, and Dr. Pairat Srichana, senior vice president of CP Foods, aims at commercializing insect-based protein that is a sustainable alternative food source for animals and human. It is also offering great circular economy opportunities since the insects can efficiently help recycling biowaste. Under this MoU, CP Foods will fund the project and jointly develop the first smart farm for Black Soldier Fly in Thailand.
