NEWS 80 FEED & ADDITIVE MAGAZINE October 2022 German manufacturer of feed additives Dr. Eckel Animal Nutrition has launched 'The Dr. Eckel World Tour 2022', worldwide series of events on the use of phytogenics in animal nutrition. The first leg of the tour started with VICTAM Asia in Thailand. Over three days, academic and industry experts shared and discussed the most promising innovations and solutions for effective ruminant feeding, poultry production and aquaculture. Rarely has the industry faced such challenges: lockdowns, sanctions and political instability are putting markets, supply chains and pricing under enormous pressure, while the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly manifest. Producers worldwide need to find solutions to utilise resources that are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive as efficiently as possible, in order to meet the demand for animal protein and still remain profitable. And these are the solutions the first World Tour conference in 2022 addressed. The World Tour 2022 will proceed to Surabaya in Indonesia, São Paulo in Brazil and, just before EuroTier, Braunschweig in Germany. Phytogenics are the future of animal nutrition For the fifteenth time since 2007, the Ranking of Dairy Cooperatives – the list of the best dairies in Poland – has been prepared. Dairy cooperatives and companies dealing with milk processing could participate in the Ranking of Dairy Cooperatives. This year, the jury awarded prizes in the Special Category - Expansion Leader and Innovative Ecological Packaging, as well as for the Business Woman, small, medium and large cooperatives. The Business Woman Award was awarded to Ms. Zofia Just (OSM Czarnków). The Manager of the Year award went to Mr. Łukasz Kalinowski (OSM in Piątnica). The District Dairy Cooperative in Piątnica received an award in the Special Category - Expansion Leader, while the "Innovative Ecological Packaging" award was given to the District Dairy Cooperative in Łowicz. The award in the category of Small Dairy Cooperatives was awarded to Ciechanowska Dairy Cooperative, the award in the category of Medium Dairy Cooperatives was awarded to the Dairy Cooperative in Gostyń, the award in the category of Large Dairy Cooperatives was given to the Mlekovita Dairy Cooperative. In the category of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Spółdzielnia Mleczarska SPOMLEK turned out to be the leader. This year, for the second time, the award in the Green Solutions Enterprise category was awarded to the District Dairy Cooperative in Sierpc. For the first time, it was decided to recognize enterprises in the Research and Development Activity category. The first winner in this category is the District Dairy Cooperative in Piątnica.
