The patent protects the novel, mineral-based formulation used in Amlan International’s existing natural feed additives, Varium® for poultry and NeoPrime® for swine, which provide swine and poultry producers with natural solutions to optimize intestinal health. Varium and NeoPrime are sold and marketed in select international markets by Amlan, the animal health business of Oil-Dri. Brazil is one of the top three global broiler producers and one of the largest exporters of poultry products. The challenge for antibiotic-free (ABF) producers has been how to maintain bird health and productivity without using antibiotics. That’s where Varium comes in. ADM’s global manufacturing assets and expertise will accelerate New Culture’s efforts toward commercializing their animal-free mozzarella in the U.S. food service market, beginning with pizzerias in 2023. As New Culture grows its commercial footprint, ADM’s production capacity for both fermentation and dairy operations will be made available to meet the demand for New Culture’s melty, stretchy cheese.
