Hill's Pet Nutrition completes purchase of manufacturing facility of Nutriamo American pet food producer Hill's Pet Nutrition announced the completed acquisition of the manufacturing facility of Nutriamo S.r.l. - an Italy-based canned pet food manufacturer. The acquisition is part of Hill's growth plans and marks Hill's first canned plant facility in Europe. “This acquisition represents an important step in our global supply chain strategy to continue meeting the growing demand by pet parents for our science-based nutrition,” said Hill's Pet Nutrition President and CEO John Hazlin. “We will move quickly to increase our capacity to produce canned food and the volume will grow over time as we are able to manufacture more of our products in the facility,” Hazlin added. Founded more than 80 years ago, Hill's Pet Nutrition is a subsidiary of Colgate-Palmolive, and provides nutrition for pets at every age, size and need. JBS Brazil announced that Maurício S. Bauer has been named as Corporate Sustainability Officer with the aim of carrying out the sustainability strategy in Brazil in line with the Company’s global targets. “Having worked for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Washington DC as Senior Director for the Beef and Leather Supply Chain, Maurício S. Bauer is taking up the position of Corporate Sustainability Officer of JBS Brazil with the aim of carrying out the sustainability strategy in Brazil in line with the Company’s global targets,” the company said in a statement. Maurício has headed up projects in partnerships with the third sector, the private sector and universities, with the emphasis on strategies and solutions for the sustainable production of farm commodities, improvements to processes, innovation and technology. He will report to Marcela Rocha, Executive Officer for Corporate Affairs at JBS. Besides the WWF, Maurício has worked at the National Wildlife Federation in the United States, directly involved in developing and implementing the organization’s strategies involving beef protein, leather, palm oil and soybean.
