The aim of this initiative is to accelerate global egg consumption to 365 eggs per person, per year. The International Egg Commission (IEC) has launched a new global initiative to develop the reputation of the egg on an international scale. Vision 365 is a 10-year plan to accelerate global average egg consumption to 365 eggs per person, per year. Supporters of the campaign aim to tell the egg industry’s story and build the reputation of the egg based on scientific fact, positioning eggs as an essential food for health. “Given their incredible nutritional value and significant environmental credentials, eggs are a natural solution for many of the challenges we face as a society today,” said IEC Chairman, Suresh Chitturi. “We, as an industry, know this and we need to ensure that the rest of the world knows it too, by uniting and telling our story. Vision 365 will enable us to do that, positioning the egg industry as a global leader in sustainable protein production.” The initiative will facilitate a vibrant and growing movement, featuring proactive global communications to promote the nutritional value of the egg and increased outreach to key inter-governmental organisations to inspire progress. This programme is being spearheaded by the IEC, which represents the global egg industry as part of its parent body, the World Egg Organisation (WEO). A little over six months after the founding of the GMP+ Academy, more and more professionals from the feed sector are using the online platform. In July 2021, GMP+ International launched 10 microlearning modules about prerequisites on the platform. As of 15 February 2022, seven new modules were added. The new modules are about the different aspects of feed transport and are available in six languages. Microlearning is an accessible way of sharing basic knowledge and skills about feed safety. Companies can use them as refresher courses for their people or to train new employees. The modules last no more than 10 minutes and contain lots of practical examples. The new modules, developed in partnership with transport firms from the feed sector, cover aspects such as planning transport, including the use of the IDTF database. In addition, a number of modules have been created especially for drivers, on loading and unloading products and cleaning vehicles used for transport. Two more general lessons are about the importance of GMP+ certification and applying the HACCP principles. The modules are available individually or as a single package (with a discount). The microlearning modules are available in English, German, Polish, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Seven new microlearning modules at GMP+ Academy for feed sector
