De Heus acquires poultry processor

The Netherlands-based feed producer De Heus Voeders has unveiled that it has taken over poultry processor Kessels Holding BV. The acquisition confirms its confidence in the sustainable future of the Dutch and Belgian broiler sector, the company stated.

Kessels Holding BV, a prominent company in poultry processing, includes Van der Linden & Co BV, Van der Linden & Co Beheer BV, Van der Linden Diervoeders BV, Van der Linden Poultry Farms BV and Van der Linden Poultry Products BV.

In order to ensure the continuity of the company, Van der Linden has been looking for a suitable successor for the current directors and shareholders, Jan and Geert Kessels, for some time now, according to De Heus’s announcement. With the above-mentioned step, this successor has been filled and De Heus confirmed its confidence in the sustainable future of the Dutch and Belgian broiler sector.

According to the statement, Geert Kessels will remain jointly responsible for the slaughtering activities as Operational Director. Jan Kessels has now reached retirement age and will transfer his duties in the short term. For the suppliers and customers of Van der Linden Poultry Products BV, nothing will change in the daily operations. All existing agreements will be respected and continued.
