Dear Readers,

In this month’s issue, we focus on an important topic shaping the future of the animal nutrition industry: phytogenic feed additives (PFAs). The positive effects of plant compounds derived from natural sources on the health and performance of animals are attracting increasing attention in the industry.

Today, especially with the restriction of antibiotics in animal husbandry, the need for alternative solutions has become even more evident. PFAs stand out as a natural and effective option. These plant-based wonders can provide many benefits in animal nutrition thanks to their active ingredients such as essential oils, flavonoids, tannins and saponins. Supporting intestinal health, increasing nutrient absorption, supporting growth by increasing feed efficiency, protecting cells against oxidative damage with its antioxidant effect, strengthening immunity, increasing the palatability and nutritional value of meat are just some of these benefits.

The increasing number of scientific studies on PFAs and the discovery of new benefits contribute to the intensification of the use of these natural compounds that support sustainability in animal nutrition. However, it is essential to continue this research in order to develop more effective and specific products with new plant species and extraction methods, to reduce the economic costs of the products and to determine the synergistic effects of PFAs with other feed additives.

It is our duty to share the results of the latest scientific studies with the representatives of the animal nutrition industry. Just like in this issue…

I hope that our rich content on PFAs, which mean health for animals, productivity for farmers and sustainability for the planet, will enlighten you.

I wish you a pleasant reading.

Hope to meet you in the next issue…
