Pussalla Meat Producers (Pvt) Ltd, the exclusive Ross® distributor in Sri Lanka, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aviagen® Asia-Pacific to enhance knowledge sharing. Under this agreement, Aviagen experts will develop tailored improvement plans for Pussalla, focusing on the distributor’s specific performance and management needs.
Pussalla has already seen significant improvements in chicken performance and health following a review by Aviagen Asia-Pacific, which led to optimized diets for their flocks and a stronger return on investment for the company, increasing their agility in the market, the company points out. Building on this success, the new agreement formalizes an ongoing collaboration, where results and management insights will be shared openly. A dedicated team from Aviagen will provide targeted analysis and recommendations.
To mark this milestone, Pussalla’s Managing Director, Dilshan Wewita, visited Aviagen’s corporate headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama, USA, on October 28, where he signed the MoU alongside Alan Thomson, Global Vice President, Technical Operations at Aviagen.
Thomson stated: “This agreement reflects our commitment to truly understanding the day-to-day operations of our customers and supporting them in understanding and applying best flock management practice to achieve optimal performance in their unique circumstances. We are dedicated to working closely with all our clients to unlock their full potential.”
Dilshan Wewita also visited the Albertville Product Development Center, where he saw the impact of over 20 years of dedicated testing for the Ross 308 and learned about future developments.
Reflecting on the visit, he said: “This agreement with Aviagen will greatly enhance our operations and help us maintain our leadership in the Sri Lankan market. I was impressed by the extensive research and commitment behind the Ross breed, as well as the dedication of Aviagen’s support team. This experience gives me complete confidence in our future.”
