Atria’s change negotiations launched on 19th of September in accordance with the collective redundancy law regarding improving the competitiveness of the poultry business at the Sahalahti factory have been completed. In the changed operating environment and competitive and market situation, Atria’s goal is to improve the competitiveness and profitability of the poultry business and increase the efficiency of industrial operations.

As a result of the negotiations, Atria has decided to centralize poultry production at the Nurmo factory and the Sahalahti factory will be closed during 2024. The change negotiations concerned the entire personnel of the Sahalahti factory, about 130 people. All those to be dismissed will be offered the opportunity to move to work at Atria’s other factories in Finland.

With the measures, Atria is aiming for annual savings of around EUR 5 million. The savings are estimated to be realised from the end of 2024 onwards.

The change negotiations in Nurmo’s poultry unit in accordance with the collective redundancy law are still continuing. The aim of these negotiations is to prepare for the introduction of the new poultry factory and prepare for the renewal of work tasks and operating methods.
