The company and its research network will present the outcomes of a news research on swine nutrition and health focusing on the use of zinc and copper while studying their metabolism.

Animine to host DPP satellite symposiumFrom May 17 to 20, 2022; the 15th edition of the Digestive Physiology of Pigs (DPP) conference will take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Animine, French independent supplier of trace minerals, was selected to host a Satellite symposium on May 17th, from 1 to 4 pm. The company and its research network will present a holistic approach for swine nutrition & health focusing on the use of zinc and copper while studying their metabolism.

This symposium will be divided into 3 main sections. First, speakers such as Dr. P. Bikker (Wageningen University, NL) and Dr. Monteiro (Animine) will expose the mechanisms of action of monovalent copper to improve performance in pigs by providing new insights about the effects of copper on gut function. A special focus will be done on interactions with microflora and its impact on fat digestibility.
Then, Prof. P. Trevisi (University of Bologna) and Prof. J. Zentek (Free Berlin University) will talk about the future in zinc oxide for the swine industry, stressing the upcoming challenge related to the ban of its pharmacological use.

In conclusion of this symposium, Animine will present its innovative research programs in pigs and its outcomes. Latest information on HIZOX® potentiated zinc mode of action as alternative to pharmacological zinc oxide will be revealed, as well as recent discovery on the mode of action of CoRouge®, the only monovalent copper form available for animal nutrition.

In addition to this symposium, the company also submitted 5 abstracts all accepted and to be discovered during the conference.
