Amlan showcases innovative feed additives in MexicoAmlan® International, the animal health business of Oil-Dri® Corporation of America, is meeting with representatives from the swine industry at the XXXI AMVECAJ International Congress, which kicked off on February 5, 2025 in Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jalisco, Mexico. Organized by the Association of Veterinary Doctors Specialists in Pigs of Los Altos de Jalisco (AMVECAJ), this annual event is a cornerstone for the swine industry in Mexico and beyond, attracting leading experts and producers from across the globe. This year’s theme, “Efficient and Healthy Farms, Profitable Results”, highlights the importance of integrating innovation, animal welfare, and operational excellence to drive industry growth.

Amlan, in partnership with KOFARM, is showcasing its portfolio of natural mineral-based feed additives and technical expertise at this year’s congress, where attendees can explore how Amlan’s solutions align with the event’s theme. With Mexico producing approximately 43 million metric tons of animal feed in 2023—15% of which was dedicated to swine—there is a growing need for innovative solutions to support efficient and sustainable production, Amlan pointed out.

“The theme of this year’s AMVECAJ Congress speaks directly to the heart of what we do at Amlan,” said Dr. Robin Jarquin, Regional Director, LATAM at Amlan International. “By focusing on gut health and production efficiency, we help producers achieve the profitability they need while maintaining the health and sustainability. Our partnership with KOFARM further strengthens our ability to deliver these benefits to the Mexican market.”

According to Amlan’s statement, co-exhibiting with KOFARM allows the company to engage directly with producers and industry professionals to discuss how its innovative feed additives support animal productivity. NeoPrime® helps piglets overcome weaning challenges by promoting intestinal health and improving growth. Varium® enhances animal performance by boosting weight gain and reducing intestinal issues. Calibrin®-Z binds harmful bacterial and fungal toxins. Through these science-driven products, Amlan is committed to helping producers optimize productivity, naturally.

“We’re excited to share the results of our latest field trial, which shows just how effective Varium can be in improving swine health and performance,” expressed Dr. César Coto, Technical Services Director, LATAM at Amlan International. “By enhancing feed conversion, reducing diarrhea, and lowering mortality—especially in antibiotic-free systems—Varium is helping producers raise healthier pigs and achieve better operational results.”

Amlan and KOFARM invite Attendees to visit Booth 41 to learn more about their proven feed additives, discuss strategies to enhance animal health and efficiency, and discover new opportunities to drive profits naturally with mineral-based solutions.

DEMONSTRATIONS HIGHLIGHTING BINDING AND ADVANCED MINERAL TECHNOLOGY
Amlan invites attendees to experience two pre-recorded demonstrations of Calibrin-Z, its broad-spectrum biotoxin binder, during exhibit hall hours at AMVECAJ. Attendees can visit booth 41 for a firsthand look at Calibrin-Z’s rapid binding capabilities and effectiveness.

Leading the first demonstration, Dr. Dongping Wang, Senior Research Scientist at Oil-Dri Corporation of America, will showcase how Calibrin-Z swiftly binds toxins to neutralize their harmful effects. In the second session, Dr. Marc Herpfer, VP of New Technologies at Oil-Dri Corporation, will highlight the critical role of high-quality mineral technology in animal production. His presentation, “Not All Bentonites Are Created Equal”, will explore how subtle differences in Amlan’s mineral properties can provide a competitive edge.
