Royal Agrifirm Group has announced that Dick Hordijk, who has been the CEO of the company for the past eight years, will be handing over the reins to a successor in January of 2025. Agrifirm is expected to make announcements with more information about his succession within a few weeks.
Dick Hordijk became CEO of Royal Agrifirm Group in June 2016. Over the past eight years, he has led Agrifirm through two strategic planning periods, ensuring that Royal Agrifirm Group has remained current in this rapidly changing industry.
Under Dick Hordijk’s stewardship, Agrifirm has become one of the leading cooperatives that guide members on sustainability, innovation and utilising earning capacity. He has steered Agrifirm’s development into an organisation that is focused on this changing future and is truly delivering a responsible food chain for future generations, according to the press release.
NEW STRATEGIC PERIOD
With the new strategy for 2025-2028 really taking shape, Royal Agrifirm Group has announced that the Supervisory Board and Dick Hordijk have jointly concluded that, following two four-year terms, now is a logical time to hand over the reins to a successor.
The processes involved have reportedly already been set in motion. Dick Hordijk will in any case stay on as CEO of Royal Agrifirm Group until 1 January 2025 to complete the current strategic period as CEO. Agrifirm is expected to make announcements with more information about his succession within a few weeks.
The Agrifirm team commented on the leadership change: “We are sincerely grateful to Dick for his tremendous contribution and inspiration and for taking Agrifirm in a new direction over the past eight years. We will reflect at length on his departure and his outstanding achievements in due course. But for the next few months, our full focus will be on continuing to provide maximum support for our customers and on working together to achieve the plans for 2024.”
